Unlocking Serenity: The Story at the Heart of My Art
This painting is my interpretation of a scene I encountered in the picturesque town of Mogarraz, Salamanca, Spain. I was immediately drawn to the bicycle leaning against the entrance of a traditional house. It seemed to embody the spirit of the town – a blend of history, simplicity, and everyday life.

The bicycle was a significant challenge for me. It took approximately three months to complete, as I worked to capture its intricate details and convey its weight and presence. I wanted to create a piece that rewards close observation, inviting the viewer to discover new details each time they look at it – a piece that offers a visual retreat.

I chose to work with oil paints and a palette knife on a wood board to create a textured, tactile surface. I added cold wax to enhance the depth and luminosity of the colors. The pallet knife allowed me to apply the paint in thick, expressive strokes, conveying the warmth and rustic charm of Mogarraz.

My goal was not just to paint a bicycle, but to capture the essence of Mogarraz – its unique character, its history, and the feeling of stepping back in time.
