From Venezuela to Canada, my journey as an artist has been one of rediscovery, challenge, and a constant search for beauty.
Hi! I'm Diana Quilarque, a multi-media artist whose work focuses on capturing light, emotion, and the beauty of the everyday. I work primarily in watercolor, but also explore other mediums like oil.
My Artistic Journey:
Painting began for me as a gift, a way to capture the magic I see in the world around me – the subtle shades of green in trees, the hidden colors in snow. Life, with its demands, led me away from my art for many years, but the desire to create never truly faded. About 9 years ago, I felt a strong pull to reconnect with my passion. I picked up a brush again, initially working with oils, guided by the mentorship of fellow artist Lorne Winters. More recently, I've been drawn to the fluid and expressive nature of watercolor, finding new ways to capture the light and emotion that inspire me.
Why I Create:
My purpose is to share that wonder with you. I want my paintings to reveal the details we often miss, to tell the stories behind the scenes that captivated me. I want you to feel the "wow" I felt when I saw them.
